Children's Education

'Karnorr Kiddy's Nursery' was started on 1st February 2000 as an initiative to provide workers' children with proper educational backgrounds so that they may have a better future and career options. It is free of charge for the works children, and currently schools 43 children in 4 sections, ie: Baby room, Nursery, LKG and UKG. We have two teachers and a helper who takes care of babies. Kids aged between 1 and 5 years old. The 1 and 2 year-olds play with toys all day and are taught basic talking. The caregiver on location provides full care for them while their parents are working. We teach reading and writing from age 3 onwards. We teach them Maths, English, Nepali, Basic Science and Social Studies. For the nursery kids only English, Math and Nepali. For LKG Science extra and for UKG Science and SOcial extra. After UKG we send the kids to other schools with the required education backgrounds provided. School starts at 9 am with morning prayers and exercise, one hour lunch break at 12. They have tea break at 3 pm and we serve tea for kids during winter and juice during the summer. Class finishes at 3 pm but we send kids home at 5 pm as their parents work till that time. Between 3 and 5 kids play at th e playground at school. We have 3 examinations during the year, the first term, the second term and the final term.
